I almost forgot to post about the 2009 One of a Kind Show in Toronto! Silly me!
So, last Wednesday I took the GO train into the big city to meet up with Carol & Kathie. Awaiting us was a show of soooo many wonderful things! I don't have deep pockets, but I have a deep imagination and it was ignited from all of the creativity and ingenious work that we found at this show.
~ a stash of OFAK info and contacts for artisans I loved!~
~I picked up this journal made out of an old Spanish text book. You not believe all of the neat-o books Margi Laurin offered!~
~Inside the journal...blank pages off-set by the original Spanish text...~
~ Sister Sister Buttons is awesome!! I also bought one for my grandfather..."I Love Scrabble"!~
~I had been on the hunt for a wallet, but this deep coin purse made from salvaged Army surplus does just the trick. You can find more creations like this at Jack & Marjorie.~
And last but not least, I found the more spectacular mittens. I failed to take a photo for you, but here is Sarah Lynn Ottewell's etsy store: SLO. Sarah Lynn makes the coolest upcycled clothing and accessories.
Cheers,
a
