Facing Forward...

Ahhh...it's 2010!  Every year, of course, brings us a fresh start.  We face forward with a new look on things, one way or another.  Some of us have resolutions, some of us toss them aside.  Do you have resolutions?  One of mine is to get on switz~art on a frequent basis again. 

Well, I owe you a good ol' post.  So, we'll work backwards.  Shall we?  Let's start with last night's lil' NY fest at our house.  We had a nice, low-key get-together with marvelous friends...

~ wheeee!  Happy New Year! ~

~ Nothing says New Year's than good ol' bubbly! ~

~ Gigantic feast!  Those devilled eggs to the left of the pic were AMAZING! ~

~ I tried my hand at bacon-wrapped water chestnuts...a recipe that was given to me by my former co-worker and dear friend, Peggy.  I had to keep my mitts off these things all day! ~

Last, but certainly not least...snaps of our Ugly Lamp Christmas.

This is the lamp we gifted to The Grandparental Units.

~ Two cherubs hump the lamp, while lovely gray, fake marble, orange glass and tacky metal leaves enhance the overall ugliness of this fine specimen.  That's my husband behind The Units. 

He can't believe his eyes.  And neither can they. ~

~ The fuzzy, pink, stained handbag lamp that was purchased by The Units and gifted to my Mum & step-pa, Danny.  We dubbed it The Bill Clinton Lamp, 'cause the stain is suspect.  The Units won the contest for finding this amazing confection. ~

~ Trippy, dude!  Mum & Danny scored this black light puppy for Kerry & Jeff.  I kinda dig it! ~

~ Our lamp that is officially plugged in and displayed proudly in our bedroom.  But there was not just one of these.  There were two.  My sis-in-law has the other, as she sees some potential in it.  I think I do, too. ~

Before closing this post off, I want to wish you all a fabulous New Year and all the best for 2010.  I also would like to shout-out a massive CONGRATS to Leya (of Curious Bird fame) and her hubby, Dustin, on the announcement of their pregnancy.  What a beautiful gift!
