"Her Name Was Lola..."

Hola, amigos!

I wish I had counted how many times I heard "Copacabana" a la Barry Manilow: in the elevator, in the pool ladies room, poolside, etc.  But, no complaints whatsoever.  The 'Pulco took my breath away.  It really did.

Anyhoo, here's a little snapshot of our Acapulco experience...

The view from our balcony:

Another view from our balcony...

Ahhh...feet in the sand.  This is probably the most coarse sand I have ever come across.  Felt neat.

The Pacific, my boy and moi.

Sunset shot from our balcony.

The Ruben's Hamburger.  Simply one of the best burger's I have ever had.
We had two each on this trip.  Washed down with a Corona.

The Copa...Copacabana.

Our last 2 days were grey, but a break from the relentless Acapulco sun was welcomed.  We made a trip to Senor Frog's on the first grey day.  The Acapulco location is a little disappointing compared to others we've been to.  What was not lacking was the view from the restaurant...worth the trip up there.

This margarita & pina colada were from Frog's, but the hotel drinks were fantastic!
Lime margs are the way!

Other highlights from our point of view, in point form of course:

  • Su Casa.  Oh. My. Gawd.  If you go to Acapulco, eat here.  You pay a bit more, but it's more than worth it.  Trev feasted on the rib-eye steak, while I had the butterflied garlic shrimp.  The location, service and food are all impeccable...a triple threat for sure.  A huge thanks to the Minnesota gang that recommended Su Casa to us.
  • Busted.  Trev and I are not troublemakers.  Usually.  Haha!  However, security nabbed us for bringing Coca-Cola & chips into the hotel and floating around in the pool with our insulated Bubba Keg mugs.
  • Vibe.  I can't believe the stuff happening.  Flea markets, dancing, city buses pumping with dance music complete with spoilers...the list goes on.  My biggest eye-opener: I had never seen a man come around with two handles and a portable electricity generator in which they were attached to.  I cannot believe people pay to be literally shocked.
  • Landscape.  Pictures don't do it justice.  If you haven't been, go.

Now back to reality!

Luego!
