Comforts of Home...

I am simply in love with our house.
I never thought that we would be living in this region and moveover,
I never expected to live within such old and new charms that this place has.
Such character...
Today, I snapped only a few photos of our abode...if I took snaps of everything, this post would honestly go on forever.
This photo was taken early spring, so the foliage and gardens have come to life
life crazy. Today was too grey to take a decent photo...

A corner of the upper hallway...

The dining room. Unfortunately not used that often, as the granite kitchen island
is where company, more often than not, gathers and stays put.

My front, outdoor sanctuary...the front porch...

Pieces of yesteryear...

Small hallway leading from our large family room (not shown in this post) to the old house.
The trunk you see here belonged to the Buick that Trev's grandfather chauffeured. The gold framed pic shows his grandfather with the car. I will do a future post on the incredible antiques that Trev's parents have kept for him. It's breathtaking, really.
Oh, the hutch is built-in.

What I have dubbed the Audrey room. There is no TV in here for a purpose. I use this space for reading and quiet time.

The kitchen as shown from our dining area...

I adore the staircase...

Cecilia loves her home, too.

And so do the swallows, who made a return this year.

And before I sign-off the blog for the day...some snaps of flowers, of course!
The allium is running its course... :-(

My basket of hens & chicks are looking a little phallic. *wink*

The tiger lilies have all bloomed...

Cheers!

You have a beautiful home. Looks like the kind of place I would like to sit and read, too.

Your home is so cute and charming. I can only hope for so much when we buy a house. I think the photo of the kitchen sparks my nostalgic interest the most!
