Freak

When I started this blog it was intended to focus on showcasing my craft. Clearly, that has not been happening and that's ok. It will happen, just not today.

Inspired by drollgirl's post today on the worst album covers, I decided to uncover my silly-ass fears as a small child because most of these fears stemmed from album covers. Between my Aunt Kerry and my dad, Shayne, I was surrounded by music of all kinds. Who the hell knows why I was so scared of the following, but I remember being literally terrified. I'll try and dissect why:

ALBUM COVERS

Pink Floyd's The Wall
Dissection: Now I can see why. The face is disturbing me as an adult. No more to say here.

Rick Springfield's Working Class Dog
Dissection: This is cute now, but perhaps I was terrified of what was to come later in life.
The corporate world?
Working like a dog for 12 or more hours a day and having the life sucked out of you?
Working in the automotive industry?
I think that's what it was.

Supertramp's Breakfast in America
Dissection: It was her face and it still kinda freaks me out today. So much so, that when I purchased the CD last year, I chucked away the case and cover.
Oh yes.
Goodbye Freaky Lady Waitress Stranger.
P.S. Knowing the album cover brought me fear, my Aunt Kerry proceeded to chase me around the house with it.
OTHER

My Grump's Naval Badges
Dissection: Probably one of the weirdest fears I had. In the room I stayed in while visiting the Grandparental Units, his badges hung on the wall. I would request for them to be taken down. For some reason, I did not like the anchors. You can't really see them in this pic very well, but there are 3 badges in the base of the large black frame. That's them.
I have overcome this fear so much, that I asked my Grump to pass them onto me.
Needless to say, he was surprised.

Blimps, Airships, Zeppelins, Big Ol' F-ers in the Sky
Dissection:
They're big, bulky and look like they're going to drop outta the sky. I still don't like them and take comfort in the fact that they are not efficient air travel and are therefore rarely seen.

Hydro Towers
Dissection: Yah, not sure about this. They are tall and ugly looking. Funny that I live near some now.

Ceiling Fans (especially in Department Stores)
Dissection: Not sure where this fear came either, but my mum will tell you that touring around a department store with me was the equivalent of getting a colonoscopy.
Well, that's enough of that. I really, truly hope that we all have weird and wonderful fears because if not, I look like the biggest douchebag.
Happy Thursday!

Ah the first one does scare me!!! Among my fears, to name a few, any kind of bridge (I don't even really like pictures of them), the US Marine Corps logo (funny how mine is similar to your Grump's badges), and lastly the Chase Bank logo and font. Not sure why, but it freaks me out every time. I could think of more, but my list might not end:)

I'm with you on Hydro Towers. Electricity in general freaks me out.

And clowns. Ick.
