Don't Stand So Close To Me

I think I am pretty aware of myself: my habits, quirks and behaviour. I try to pay specific attention to how I treat people and I like to ensure that I am not a burden on anyone. That said, I have been known to let people know how I feel when maybe it's not appropriate.

Yesterday, as I stood in line at Starbucks, I was as happy as a lark. I was looking intensely at the lemon poppy seed loaf when two women stood in line behind me. The one woman took her place right behind me. Like right behind...4 to 5 inches tops. I could feel her breath on my neck and she was squawking to her friend in a voice that would make most mammals cringe. "Oh, Sally, those espresso broooooooownieeeees are soooooooooooooooo amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!" And the squawking did not stop. I would take a step forward, she would follow. When I finally placed my order, she was there. Right there. Not even a glance in her direction when I would like some privacy using my debit card scared her away. I was annoyed. I don't like people in my personal space, unless otherwise invited. And why? She didn't smell, she wasn't exactly being rude. I am affectionate with my family, so why was I so put off?

I Googled. This article may say it all.

It's funny how we have our pet peeves. And sometimes, those dislikes are often things we also do ourselves! For instance, I tailgate and I know I do it, but do not appreciate when others do unto me. Weird, huh?

What are your pet peeves?

Firstly, I'm in love with that 'sea of people' photo! Well, I don't like it when a customer service replies with, 'ehmmm' instead of a simple 'yes' or 'no'...

Oh yes... I can relate! Hmm pet peeves... crumbs on the counter, dishes in the sink, trash on the coffee table, the sound of digging in wet sand, the sound of cutting cardboard, when people touch my head (yeah I know that is a really weird one!), THE STREETSWEEPER, and for sure people making out in public. Get a room people!

um, i have gotten into fights when people are too fucking close to me. the last time was in rite aid. HUGE FUCKING SCENE when i asked a lady to BACK OFF as she was way too close to me. her husband sided with me, and then she started yelling at both of us. GREAT.

and i could write 14 yards of pet peeves right here, but i'll spare ya!

As you know, I work in a Dr's office + I constantly have to ask the 2nd person in line to kindly step back since a lot of times I am speaking about very private matters with the 1st person in line (the person at my window). Interesting reactions.

Cutting in line is a HUGE pet peeve, people who are either so narcissistic or absent minded that they mosey on up to the front. Again, at my work you would be stocked how many people pop their head in front of the 1st person in line + say "tell so-and-so I'm here." A: Who the f--k are you and B: Get in line to pay your f--king co-pay.

Man, I need to get a beer + calm down

Georgia! Isn't that weird?! I hate it! It makes me faint if someone touches them...I get all woozy!

Shona! I had that happen to me at my doctor's office when I was filling out paperwork...this guy comes up behind me and talks to the receptionist. She was as pissed as I was!

It's official...I am a biatch! Hahaha!
